the walls are dull and the paint slowly chips away
revealed underneath is a plain white wall of clay
i stared at the clay and the paint continued to peel
like it was trying to show me what it had concealed
i noticed a little message was beginning to form
so i peeled away to see what it was trying to inform
after i was done a short message was engraved
"the road you must follow is the one you have paved"
i peeled some more and i found a message within
"you may not have your own road, for that is a sin"
i stared for a while and a grin came over my face
"wish for too much, and you will never cease to chase"
i ended up covering the wall with massive colors of paint
a painting of a beautiful girl would never draw a complaint
