he stared outside and noticed the rain falling way too fast
he walked quickly, avoiding everything he happened to pass
the raindrops fell on his head and proceeded to roll down
he reluctantly tried to fix his hair and continued with a frown
he had spent nearly an hour getting his hair ready that day
but he had given up and left his hair for the wind to sway
he stared down as he walked, avoiding puddles on the ground
he payed no attention to anything that happened to be around
his freshly washed shirt was by then all but nice and dry
he silently cursed the rain and looked up to question the sky
he was walking even more quickly now, his hair covering his eyes
because he could not fix his hair no matter how hard he tried
he put his hands in his pockets to keep it as warm as he could
he stopped at a red light and looked ahead, and there she stood
she stood under her umbrella and her mouth formed a smile
he now looked like a mess, but figured it was all worthwhile
he waited for the green light and began to run when it shone
and you can still see in her eyes that she heard all his bones
as they split into a million pieces while he was running by
and as the driver got out of his car, his lifeless eyes asked why
